National Championships 19th-22nd July 2012

Updates added 13th June (below)

The National Championship will be at Stone Sailing Club on the River Blackwater, as discussed at the 2011 AGM. It promises to be a great event, so book the time off work now! Detailed planning is in progress, and well let you know the programme, NOR, SI, etc as soon as we have them. Racing will start on Thursday 19th, but you will need to get your boat in the water on the Wednsday. I know you will want to get accommodation sorted out, so here is what is available:

Camping will be available on the club grounds and camper vans can go in the car park

Waterside Caravan Park is a commercial site which is about a 15min walk from the Club. Check it out at www.park-resorts.com and select St Lawrence Bay.

There are also self-catering and B&B properties available, see attached list

Updates added 13th June 2012

Please note;

Entries should be submitted before 30th June to avoid a £30 surcharge

Visitors need to launch at Bradwell Marina at lunchtime on Wednesday 18th due to tidal restrictions

Entry list as at 16th July

Southern Areas

Royal Southern YC, Hamble, 9-10th June 2012

We have some great news - Elvstrom have confirmed that they will be the title sponsor for the 2012 Southerns.

Further, they have agreed to present the overall winning boat with a brand new kite with smaller prizes for overall second and third.

For the Notice of Race and entry form please follow this link.

The 707 Southerns form part of the Royal Southern's 175th anniversary June regatta. The 707s start on the green line and this is the NOR that applies to the Southerns. There is also a drop down on the RSnrYC website on how to enter.

Information regarding berthing and accommodation can be dowloaded here.

The Edinburgh 707 Cup

28th April 2012

Port Edgar Yacht Club will be hosting the first ever 707 Edinburgh Cup on 28th April 2012. We are hoping to gather as many 707s as possible from around Scotland and beyond for a one day sailing event which will consist of 5 races. The race will be followed by a complimentary barbecue and the usual Edinburgh social experience for any sailor that fancies extending the evening. We have secured sponsorship to allow us to provide Team Gillets to the winning team, very much a case of winner takes it all!!

Scottish Keelboat academy will have a rib with coach on the water providing much needed feedback for all boats racing.

SIs and NOR will be posted on Port Edgar Yacht clubs website

I would be grateful if any boats interested in participating would let us know in order to help with planning.
